Ich habe zwar überhaupt keinen Bock auf den Film aber sowas beunruhigt mich dann doch. Anscheinend wird der Film auf PG-13 runtergeschnitten. Wer das Spiel kennt, wird denn Kopf schütteln.:

After being hired to shoot an adaptation of the ultra-violent video game Gens took Asian action films such as The Killer and A Bittersweet Life as his starting point and turned in an explicitly violent, very bloody cut of the film that apparently included a number of head shots and extreme gore moments that would have guaranteed the film a hard R rating. Which really shouldn’t have been any sort of surprise if the studio execs had been paying any attention at all - it’s not like they wouldn’t have seen the dailies or effects work ahead of time - but apparently after seeing Gens’ cut of the film the studio removed him from the project and placed Nicolas De Toth in control of a new edit of the film. Who’s De Toth? He’s the man behind the edit of Live Free Or Die Hard, a job he was hired for specifically to turn in an entirely bloodless version of the film and word is that this is his task with Hit Man as well.

Also so langsam zweifle ich echt an manchen Produktionsfirmen. Das ist Hitman und nicht Liselottes Ponyhof. Manchmal verstehe ich aber auch garnicht, warum die Inhaber der Rechte ihr Baby für so einen Quark freigeben können. Eidos hat ja auch schon bei der Tomb-Raider-Verfilmung absoluten Bullshit entstehen lassen und das ist und bleibt wohl einfach eine Money, Money, Money-Sache. Für Gens tut es mir Leid und auch ich hatte ein wenig Hoffnung bekommen, als ich las dass Henry Ian Cusick ebenfalls an Bord ist. Damn! Damn! Damn!

Der Film hat mich aufgrund des Hauptdarstellers und des bescheidenen Trailers eh schon wenig interessiert, aber jetzt ist wohl auch der letzte Funken Hoffnung weg.

Och...also ich wurde gerade erst aufgrund des Hauptdarstellers und des Trailers überhaupt auf den Film aufmerksam...aber bei PG13? No thanx!!!

Da wird dann auf DVD sowieso wieder ein "unrated-extended-cut" erscheinen (wie bei "Live Free Or Die Hard")...werde wohl auf den Silberling warten und den Gang ins Kino vermeiden...

Hoffentlich gibt es bald mal (wenn viele so reagieren, wie ich) einen Aufstand der Kinobetreiber gegen die Produktionsfirmen. Warum nicht mal einen Streik anzetteln, bis Filme für Erwachsene auch wieder für Erwachsene gedreht werden, anstatt diese für Kinder zusammenzuschneiden, bis es niemanden mehr interessiert!

We were informed, "Director Xavier Gens is still working on the film. The film still has intense action and will definitely be rated 'R.'" Our source strongly denied that Fox is softening the final cut and called the original report untrue. They emphasized that it will still be a true "R" and a not a "bloodless version".

Ich denke, Fox versucht hier ein Desaster abzuwenden, indem sie nun behaupten, es war nie geplant.

Ich habe mal gelesen (ohne Quelle immer ziemlich nichtssagend, sorry, aber kann mich nicht mehr erinnern), dass es den Software-Herstellern so ziemlich egal sei, wie der Film wird, solange sie ihre Lizenz verkloppen können. Gilt ja auch umgekehrt, welchen Regisseur interessiert es schon, wie das Videogame zum Film wird? Naja, außer den Wachowskis. ...und spart es euch, ich weiß, ihr fandet die Spiele und Filme kacke: I GOT IT!
