Vor ein paar Tagen gesehen und ich kann diese Dokumentation wirklich nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen, wer sich ein wenig für Psychoanalyse und Philosophie interessiert, oder einfach mal eine Aneinanderreihung einiger der unvergesslichsten Filmszenen aller Zeiten sehen möchte. Der Titel ist dabei ein wenig irreführend; es geht natürlich nicht um die Zurschaustellung irgendwelcher perverser Fantasien. Der Standpunkt, den der Film vertritt, ist vielmehr der, dass das Kino - wenn ich's richtig verstanden habe - letztlich Ausdruck unserer inneren Begierden und Sehnsüchten ist (oberflächlich betrachtet).THE PERVERT'S GUIDE TO CINEMA takes the viewer on an exhilarating ride through some of the greatest movies ever made. The film cuts its cloth from the very world of the movies it discusses; by shooting at original locations and on replica sets, it creates the uncanny illusion that Zizek is speaking from within the films themselves. Described by The Times as 'the woman helming this Freudian inquest,' director Sophie Fiennes' collaboration with Slavoj Zizek illustrates the immediacy with which film and television can communicate genuinely complex ideas. Says Zizek: 'My big obsession is to make things clear. I can really explain a line of thought if I can somehow illustrate it in a scene from a film. THE PERVERT'S GUIDE TO CINEMA is really about what psychoanalysis can tell us about cinema.'
THE PERVERT'S GUIDE TO CINEMA is constructed in three parts. Says Fiennes: 'The form of the Guide is a deliberately open one. There are three parts, but there could be more. Zizek's method of thinking is exciting because it's always building. Things relate forwards and backwards and interconnect into a mind-altering network of ideas. The film's title is something of a McGuffin - just a way to get you into this network.'
Das ganze gleicht dabei alles andere als einer trockenen Vorlesung, sondern ist gleichzeitig unterhaltsam UND anspruchsvoll. Žižek sucht nämlich meistens die Orginialsets der Filme auf, über die er gerade spricht, beispielsweise das Raumschiff aus Solaris oder das Hotelzimmer aus The Conversation, und seine Begeisterung für den Film dringt wirklich jederzeit durch. Daneben ist es einfach herrlich ihm zuzuhören und wie er den ein oder anderen sarkastischen Spruch los lässt. Seine Ausführungen können zwar auch teilweise arg unverständlich werden, wenn man mit der theoretischen Materie - so wie ich - nicht wirklich vertraut ist, und Žižek mal eben in Windeseile von den Theorien von Freud zu Lacan und Co. springt, trotzdem habe ich mich wirklich zu keiner Sekunde gelangweilt (dazu konnte ich mich wahrscheinlich auch zu sehr mit dem gezeigten Filmmaterial identifizieren).
Am interessantesten fand ich dabei, wird er bestimmte Verbindungen zwischen den Filmen aufzeigt, beispielsweise zwischen den Marx Brothers und Hitchcocks Psycho, aber auch innerhalb des Gesamtwerks eines Regisseurs. An prominentester Stelle stehen dabei ganz klar Alfred Hitchcock und David Lynch. Auch die Filmauswahl insgesamt ist wirklich gut getroffen (und korrespondiert natürlich rein zufällig auch mit meinen Lieblingen...): The Great Dictator, Mulholland Drive, Eyes Wide Shut, Three Colors: Blue, Dogville, Vertigo, Stalker ... eine volle Liste gibt es bei Wikipedia. Und als The Pervert's Guide... dann auch noch mit meiner Lieblingsfilmszene überhaupt endete, hatte er endgültig bei mir gewonnen.
Mit der Empfehlung wenigstens einen Grossteil der aufgelisteten Filme zu kennen: Unbedingt angucken, wer meint, dass Film mehr ist als 24 Bilder pro Sekunde.
