Die als unverfilmbar geltende Romanvorlage von Kazuo Ishiguro habe ich nicht gelesen, aber die ruhevolle Filmadaption von Mark Romanek hat mich emotional sehr bewegt. Was vor allem an der Tragik und Ausweglosigkeit der Geschichte liegt, dessen Ende sich bereits früh abzeichnet. Hinzu kommt das Zusammenspiel zwischen Carey Mulligan und Andrew Garfield und eine Farb- und Bildwahl, die immer wieder den Aspekt der Vergänglichkeit aufgreift.
